Cause of the Servant of God Louis Marie Léveil Beatification Process in Rome

The diocesan inquiry on the virtuous life of the Servant of God Louis Marie Léveil was concluded in June 2019. In order to proceed with the beatification process in Rome Most Rev. J. Susaimanickam, Bishop of Sivagangai, appointed by a decree on 10 June 2019, Rev. Fr. Pascual Cebollada Silvestre S.J. as the postulator in Rome for the beatification process of the Servant of God Léveil. He is serving as the General Postulator for the Jesuit Saints at the General Curia of the Jesuits, Vatican. In September 2019 he got the approval from the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, Rome and began his ministry for the beatification process of the Servant of God Léveil.

Two trunk boxes containing the documents of the diocesan inquiry on the virtuous life of the Servant of God Léveil were shipped to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, Rome through the Nunciature in India in July 2019. The trunk boxes were delivered to the Congregation in August 2019 and were opened at the Vatican Office on 11 Nov 2019 by the Secretary to the Congregation. The files of the documents were checked and the next process was commenced. Three Indian Jesuit priests namely Rev. Fr. Lisbert D’Souza S. J. (Regional Assistant of South Asia), Rev. Fr. Joseph Sebastian (Spiritual Counselor at Urbanina University) and Rev. Fr. L. X. Jerome (Staff in the Tamil Section of Vatican Radio) witnessed the event at the Congregation.

May I request you all to pray fervently to the Merciful God that the verification process of the documents of the diocesan inquiry may get over successfully and the Servant of God Louis Marie Léveil be soon declared as ‘Venerable’ by the Holy Catholic Church.
